Gardens of Egleston Zine

Gardens of Egleston is a community storytelling project about gardening, food, culture, and resilience in Boston’s Egleston Square neighborhood. The team mapped our gardening commons to remember the wisdom of Egleston’s gardeners as our neighborhood navigates social, environmental, and economic challenges. I was invited to create a zine about the project so that people could have a physical map to visit these spaces and do their own walking tour. I wanted to evoke the warmth and character of our community so used hand drawn imagery and lots of images of community members. Making this felt like an expression of love for my community. Visit https://gardensofegleston.org/ to check out the digital interactive map and for more info about the project.
